DGIWG has taken a leading role in metadata standards development,
in particular in the development of ISO 19115 - Metadata, ISO 19115-2
Imagery Metadata and ISO 19139 Metadata Implementation Specification.
DGIWG is developing a comprehensive implementation profile of metadata
for use in coalition environments, including NATO environments,
requiring a common metadata standard to produce, catalogue, share,
discover and exploit geospatial intelligence. Input on this effort
is solicited from the broader geospatial community interested in
metadata standards.
