Thematic Coordination Activities

Since a number of topics span across the Technical Panels, DGIWG has established several Thematic Coordinators who are responsible for coordination across on themes such as metadata, imagery & gridded data, and portrayal.

The responsibilities of the Thematic Coordinators are:

• Cross participates in all Projects affecting a particular theme (e.g. metadata, imagery & gridded data, and vector data)
• Assesses the Projects for continuity on the theme;
• Ensures that overlaps or missing components are identified;
• Interacts with liaison organizations (e.g. ISO, IHO, OGC) to ensure that the current status of work in those organizations is covered by the various Projects addressing a theme;
• Reports to the Technical Panel chairs and Technical Coordinator on support for the theme; and
• Recommends changes to the Program of Work.

T42 - Enterprise Architecture
